Edition 2026

First, the less pleasant news: Unfortunately, there will be no new edition of our LifeSciences calendar in 2026.

But there is justified hope for 2027!

Why?

For the calendar to be profitable, we need to print at least 800 copies. The quality is outstanding—probably one of the best available in art calendars—and accordingly elaborate. However, printing costs have exploded in recent years. Raising the price to 100 euros would not be a solution: While loyal fans would buy the calendar, there would not be nearly enough to reach the minimum print run.

The Reality

Our core clientele from academic institutions, which ordered 375 copies at the special price of 29.95 euros ten years ago, has shrunk to just 113 copies at 39.95 euros for the 2024 edition.

Industry is also cutting costs wherever possible: Instead of high-quality art calendars, often only ballpoint pens or simple house calendars with company photos are given away for seven euros—if anything at all.

These are difficult times—not just for bakers, but also for providers of printed products.

One might say: "Stop complaining! A high-quality product also needs high-quality marketing!" And I completely agree. But marketing costs money—and our budget is limited.

The Outlook

There are interested partner candidates who could join the project with more liquidity and better market access. However, for 2026, the base of binding pre-orders from industrial customers was still too thin to enable a commitment.

The situation looks different for 2027: Long-standing industrial customers—including Swiss partners who paused in 2025 and 2026—are already signaling their return. This strengthens the prospects that a partner will commit to the 2027 edition.

The Decision Will Be Made in Spring 2026

If I manage to secure 50% of the minimum print run through pre-orders from corporate customers, the chances are good that the 2027 calendar—together with a partner—will be realized.
